Anyone in the Tuscaloosa area who wants a doula can have one by their side. By partnering with Birthwell Partners, FREE and reduced cost services are available for those meeting income eligibility guidelines.

Prenatal

I will meet with you at least once before your baby is born so we can get to know each other. This gives you a time to ask me all your questions about labor and birth. This give me a time to learn how to best support you during your labor. Together we can make a plan for your birth that you feel confident about.

Labor

I will stay with you throughout your labor and delivery. While with you, I will provide continuous physical comfort and support (including massage, position changes, counter-pressure, etc.) I will also help explain anything you don’t understand, encourage and reassure you, and show any family members you want present how they can help you too. 

Postpartum

After your baby is born I will stay with you until you and your baby are settled in and I will help you get breastfeeding off to a excellent start. Once you are home, I will come visit you once or twice to answer any questions, help with breastfeeding, and make sure you and baby are transitioning well.
